BIOGRAPHY
Mr. Anthony Johnson is a lifelong aviation enthusiast originating from Geneva, IL. Captivated by the power of flight at an early age, Anthony ultimately began his flying career in 1999.
Anthony began undergraduate studies at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Wishing to further his career in aviation and follow his passion for flying, Anthony transferred to Parks College of Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO. While at Parks College, he earned his private pilot license and elected to pursue a major in aviation management. Anthony graduated Cum Laude from Parks College with a BS in Aeronautics.
During his tenure at Parks College, Anthony served in numerous elective leadership positions, including President and Executive Vice President of the Association of Parks College Students, and Vice President of Pi Chapter of Alpha Eta Rho. As a demonstrated leader, Anthony was selected as Student Representative to the Parks College Alumni Board. While serving in this capacity, Anthony independently designed and proposed the construction of a $20-million flight training and education facility for Saint Louis University. The design and proposal received great support from the administration of Saint Louis University, Parks College, and the Parks College Alumni Board. Mr. Johnson's project continues to garner recognition and support to bring the project to fruition.
In 2008, Anthony was directly responsible for the re-founding of Phi Alpha Chi, the Oldest Social Aviation Fraternity in the World originally founded at Parks Air College in 1941. Serving as President of Phi Alpha Chi for over 2 1/2 years, he considers restoring and strengthening the Brotherhood of Phi Alpha Chi his greatest achievement while at Parks College. Under Anthony's leadership, Phi Alpha Chi successfully raised over $15,000 for the Saint Louis University Cancer Research Center in 2008. The donation represented the largest monetary amount raised by a social fraternity at Saint Louis University.
In June 2010, the National Board of Directors of Alpha Eta Rho selected Mr. Johnson as the first full-time National Executive Director of Alpha Eta Rho International Aviation Fraternity. Currently serving in this capacity, Anthony is dedicated to revitalizing and growing the national organization, restoring active communication with chapters and alumni, and managing the National Office in St. Louis, MO. Anthony serves as a volunteer and Assistant Judge for the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA), and remains actively involved with the Parks College Alumni Board and Phi Alpha Chi Alumni Association.
Away from work, Anthony enjoys spending time with family and friends. Mr. Johnson is an accomplished tennis player, having played on the Saint Louis University Men's Tennis Team in 2007-2008. Anthony is an avid musician and antique automobile enthusiast. A favorite pastime of Anthony's is building and flying remote-controlled airplanes. Most of all, Anthony enjoys driving and working on his cars, and takes advantage of every opportunity to fly.
